چکیده
This paper presents a filter bank (FB) analysis of parallel Magnetic Resonance Imaging (pMRI). The underlying image reconstruction strategies of the most widely used pMRI reconstruction methods are unified within the framework and their fundamental perfect reconstruction (PR) constraints are analyzed. Based on this analysis, an improved reconstruction method, calledH∞ optimal SENSE, is developed and its advantage is demonstrated by an example.

How to Choose the Optimal Method
Fast imaging methods and the availability of required hardware for magnetic resonance tomography (MRT) have significantly reduced acquisition times from about an hour down to several minutes or seconds. With this development over the last 20 years, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has become one of the most important instruments in clinical diagnosis. In recent years, the greatest progress in f...
متن کاملAn iterative reconstruction method of complex images using expectation maximization for radial parallel MRI.
In MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), signal sampling along a radial k-space trajectory is preferred in certain applications due to its distinct advantages such as robustness to motion, and the radial sampling can be beneficial for reconstruction algorithms such as parallel MRI (pMRI) due to the incoherency. For radial MRI, the image is usually reconstructed from projection data using analytic m...

B. SHARIF, AND Y. BRESLER ELECTRICAL AND COMPUTER ENGINEERING, COORDINATED SCIENCE LABORATORY, UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS AT URBANACHAMPAIGN, URBANA, IL, UNITED STATES INTRODUCTION Most auto-calibrated parallel MRI (pMRI) methods, especially the popular GRAPPA method [1], perform image reconstruction by solving for missing k-space samples. Such methods, also known as k-space-based pMRI, utilize the...
متن کاملAccelerating SENSE using distributed compressed sensing
INTRODUCTION: With the emergence of compressed sensing (CS) theory (1-2), its combination with parallel magnetic resonance imaging (pMRI) is of great interests. SparseSENSE has been proposed independently (3-6) which applies CS to SENSE (7) with random sampling as a regularization method. However, there are a couple of issues with the method. First, the incoherence condition required in CS cann...
متن کاملAnalytic Image SENSE Reconstruction for Dynamic pMRI
Introduction: Dynamic susceptibility contrast (DSC) MRI is a commonly used technique to evaluate cerebral microcirculation. DSC MRI assesses dynamic changes in signal intensity caused by alterations in magnetic susceptibility by an intravascular contrast agent (CA). The fast passage of the CA puts high demands on the temporal resolution of the MR data collection, while reasonable spatial resolu...
